As you weigh your options, join us for three days on the Farm.
Meet our students, talk to our professors, walk beneath the palms. See what it means to be here.
We will also be livestreaming and recording select Admit Weekend events.
Register by April 15 to stay with a Room Host. Register by April 19 if you are not staying on campus.
Registration is closed.
If you need a disability-related accommodation (programming and/or lodging) or wheelchair access to participate in Admit Weekend activities, please make a note on your registration and contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
San Francisco International (SFO) is approximately 25 miles north and San Jose International (SJC) is approximately 20 miles south of Stanford. Both airports offer public transport, shuttle and hire car options that will get you here.
Oakland International (OAK) is also an option but is further from campus and can be more difficult to travel to/from using public transport and shuttles.
From San Francisco
By car, Stanford is approximately 1 hour from downtown San Francisco. You can take the 101 South (shorter but often busier) or the 280 South.
From San Jose
By car, Stanford is approximately 40 minutes from downtown San Jose. You can take the 101 North (shorter but often busier) or the 280 North.
The San Francisco Bay Area's Caltrain connects San Francisco and San Jose (including both airports) with a stop in Palo Alto. Attendees using Caltrain should get off at the Palo Alto station.
Stanford's free shuttle service, the Marguerite, meets most Caltrain services at the Palo Alto station and can take you to many popular destinations on campus—including the Alumni Center where Admit Weekend Check-In is located.
For the duration of Admit Weekend, parents are welcome to park free of charge in Galvez Lot, adjacent to the Arrillaga Alumni Center. All other campus parking restrictions will be enforced.
Although we cannot arrange lodging for parents, nearby Palo Alto and Menlo Park offer many places to stay—across a range of styles and prices.
What to Bringtop
Pack your bags!
Please check the weather ahead of time. Even in sunny Stanford, we do have the occasional April showers and evenings can be chilly. Feel free to dress in casual attire.
If you are staying on campus, you will be sharing a dorm room. Keep in mind that space is limited, so admitted students typically sleep on the floor. Please pack lightly and try to limit your personal items to one carry-on size bag.
- Sleeping bag and pillow (you may want to put your pillow in a plastic bag or tote bag to keep it clean)
- Small overnight bag or suitcase
- Towel and shower shoes (flip flops or slides)
- Toiletries (e.g., shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, sunscreen)
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Light jacket (dress in layers)
- Reusable water bottle
- Please label all your items with your name, email, and phone number before you arrive.
- Do not bring valuables.
- If you are staying on campus Thursday and/or Friday, please bring your sleeping bag, pillow, and luggage with you when you check in.
