Cardinal Service

The Haas Center for Public Service is the hub of Cardinal Service, a university-wideendeavor to make service an essential feature of a Stanford education. Through more than 170 community-engaged learning courses and 500 full-time service fellowships and internships, the Haas Center supports students in making a sustained service commitment and pursuing a public service career.

Cardinal Commitment

Make a long-term commitment to service

Making a Cardinal Commitment means engaging with a community to address a problem or need for at least three quarters while you’re at Stanford. You’ll develop a personal mission statement describing your commitment, receive advice and guidance from a mentor or supervisor, and spend some time documenting and reflecting on your service experience.
